Pancreas and Biliary Disease: A point of care clinical guide. Kulwinder Dua, Reza Shaker (eds). Springer, Germany, 2016. 409pp, price not mentioned.

This concise book has many chapters by well-known experts in the field. It is meant primarily for busy clinicians and residents who care for patients with pancreatic and biliary diseases but do not have enough time to read textbooks on the subject. The interesting concept of the book is to highlight at the beginning of each chapter a patient's common questions about the disease and to subsequently provide relevant answers so that a clinician is ready to face similar questions from patients and their relatives. The book covers most of the common pancreatic and biliary diseases and provides current evidence-based information about them. Of course, the authors' personal preference is bound to be reflected but that is not a handicap given the objectives of the book to present relevant information in a concise manner. Overall, it is a readable book, the contents are up to date, and it meets its goal.
